One wallet, many keys: security for serious holdings

ValidBlocks — a validator securing the MultiversX blockchain — set out to give the ecosystem the wallet its biggest players were missing: xSafe, a multi-signature wallet where withdrawals and transactions require approval from multiple stakeholders. Graffino designed and built the interface, and worked with the MultiversX team on the Rust smart contract underneath. A community project, co-sponsored by Graffino and ValidBlocks — now trusted by some of the largest investors in the ecosystem.

A validator that wanted to give something back

ValidBlocks verifies transactions on the MultiversX blockchain — the infrastructure-level work of keeping a network secure, accurate and reliable. The team saw a gap above the infrastructure: holders of serious digital assets had no native, polished way to protect funds behind more than one key.

xSafe was the answer — created for the community, sponsored by Graffino and the ValidBlocks team together. A multi-signature wallet relies on voting and approval from multiple stakeholders before funds move, which makes it the natural home for DAOs, crypto-fund administrators, staking providers and NFT treasuries — anyone whose balance has, as the team puts it, a long tail of zeros.

High-stakes security, used by non-technical hands

  • Quorum logic is inherently complex. Proposals, votes, thresholds, signers — the mechanics that create security also create confusion if the interface exposes them raw.
  • The audience is everyone. From DAO operators managing billions to first-time users managing savings — the same interface had to serve both safely.
  • The stakes forbid ambiguity. In a wallet, an unclear screen isn't a UX flaw; it's a financial hazard. Every state had to be legible at a glance.
  • The contract is the foundation. The multi-signature smart contract had to be amended and adjusted in Rust, in close collaboration with the MultiversX development team itself.

When there are billions of dollars' worth of assets at risk, a multisig wallet becomes the default choice for big players. That's why the interface had to be top notch.

The bar the project set itself

Make the safest path the simplest one

  • Minimum steps, maximum clarity. Wallet creation and management reduced to as few actions as possible, with straightforward visual cues telling users where they are and what's next — across tokens, NFTs and smart contracts.
  • Design as a security feature. Functional, sophisticated design in service of legibility — the powerful-and-elegant interface both ValidBlocks and its users expected.
  • Build with the chain, not just on it. Close collaboration with the MultiversX development team to amend and adjust the multi-signature smart contract in Rust, keeping interface and contract in lockstep.

The interface of a vault, with the feel of an app

01

React frontend, ground up

Fully responsive and built for modularity and component reuse — with Redux managing state so real-time blockchain data never lags the screen.

02

Quorum-based transaction flow

Propose, vote, approve, execute — the multi-stakeholder mechanism rendered as a flow anyone can follow confidently.

03

Rust smart-contract collaboration

The multi-signature contract amended and adjusted together with the MultiversX development team — interface and chain logic designed as one.

04

Asset management surface

Tokens, NFTs and smart contracts tracked in one place, with visual cues that keep even non-technical users oriented.

05

Design-system discipline

Figma specifications translated faithfully, with Material UI keeping the interface cohesive — plus dark mode and filtering for daily usability.

06

Real-time blockchain interaction

Secure data transmission with MultiversX, engineered so transactions and balances stay accurate without delays or confusion.

Trusted where trust is the whole product

Adoption in a security product is the only review that counts — and xSafe's came from the top of the ecosystem.

Adoption

The ecosystem's biggest

xSafe is trusted by some of the largest investors in the MultiversX ecosystem.

Endorsement

From the founders

Trusted by the very founders and makers of MultiversX — and eagerly adopted by EAPES, one of its most thriving NFT communities.

Availability

Open to all

Teams, staking providers, DAOs, NFT creators and DeFi projects — everyone who calls MultiversX home.

Security products win on interface

The cryptography behind multisig is settled science; what decides adoption is whether a DAO treasurer — or a first-time holder — can use it without fear of their own mistakes. xSafe's bet was that top-notch interface work is what turns a security mechanism into a security product. Adoption by the ecosystem's founders and largest holders suggests the bet paid off.

The pattern travels. Any product guarding high-stakes assets — custody, payments, credentials, infrastructure — wins or loses on the same thing: making the safest path the easiest one to take.

Let's make safety usable, by Graffino.

We design and build interfaces for high-stakes products — wallets, custody, fintech — where clarity is the security feature.
